Her voice has reached a broader audience through her contributions to "Voice your Column" in The Hindu newspaper. In addition to her academic publications, Dr. Tharini holds five patents, including innovations in AI-powered and voice-assisted translation devices and interactive learning systems for English language instruction. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has assured Delhi Government that he will talk with Haryana government on releasing water from Yamuna into the national capital. Addressing the media after an emergency meeting today with Mr Saxena on water scarcity, Delhi Water Minister Atishi noted that the city is yet to receive water from Himachal Pradesh as well. She said that Haryana is not releasing this water due to their alleged dispute with Himachal Pradesh. During the meeting, the Minister also discussed various issues with regard to Delhi Jal Board including shortage of staff and officers. 000 Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party today staged a protest outside the BJP’s office in Delhi on the on-going water crisis.

Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu will take oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 12th June at 11:27 am. The swearing-in ceremony will take place near Vijayawada. NDA senior leaders and Chief Ministers of neighboring states are expected to attend the ceremony. This will be the second time Mr Naidu will take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation in 2014 and first Telugu person to take oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. NDA allies Telugu Desam Party, Janasena and Bharatiya Janata Party swept the assembly polls winning 164 of the 175 assembly seats.
- CBI Files Final Chargesheet Against Former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, His Family Members & Others In Connection With Land For Jobs Scam
The CBI has filed its final charge sheet in connection with land for jobs scam allegedly involving former railway minister Lalu Prasad, his family members and others. The special court has listed the matter on July 6 for consideration on the charge sheet. Earlier, on October 4, 2023, the court had granted bail to former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Rabri Devi and others concerning a fresh Chargesheet in the alleged Land for Job Scam case. In another case, CBI also filed a supplementary charge sheet against BRS leader K Kavitha before a Delhi court in the liquor policy case. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja posted the case for hearing on July 6. The court extended Kavitha’s judicial custody till June 21.
- Odisha Records Marginal Increase In Elephant Population
Odisha has witnessed a marginal increase in the population of elephants during the last seven years. As per the All Odisha Elephant Census-2024 report, 2,098 elephants were counted in 38 Forest Divisions. It includes 313 adult tuskers, 13 adult makhna, 748 adult females, 148 sub-adult males, 282 sub-adult females, 209 juveniles and 385 calves. There was no presence of elephants in 13 Divisions. Dhenkanal Forest Division, with 239 jumbos, reported the maximum number of elephants in the state. Forest Department carried out the three-day census exercise in areas reporting elephant movements throughout the state from May 22 to 24 in 48 divisions across 28 districts of the state. More than 5,700 Forest Department staff and several NGOs, research scholars, and academicians participated in the exercise.
- Total Foodgrain Production In Country Estimated At Over 3,288 Lakh Tonnes In 2023-24
The total foodgrain production in the country is estimated at over three thousand 288 lakh tonnes in 2023-24. According to the third advance estimate of major agricultural crops released by the Agriculture Ministry, the total Rice production is estimated at one thousand 367 lakh tonnes. The production of Wheat is estimated at over one thousand 129 lakh tonnes which is higher by over 23 lakh tonnes from previous year’s wheat production. The production of Tur is estimated at around 34 lakh tonnes, which is marginally higher by 0.73 Lakh tonnes from last year’s production. The Ministry said, this Advance estimate of area, production and yield includes Kharif, Rabi and the summer season. This estimate has been primarily prepared on the basis of information received from State agricultural statistics authorities.

- BJP Led NDA Secures Absolute Majority In Lok Sabha Elections By Winning 292 Seats; BJP Emerges As Single Largest Party With 240 Seats
The BJP- led NDA has secured absolute majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by winning 292 seats. Results of all 543 Lok Sabha seats have been declared. The BJP alone has won 240 seats. Telugu Desam has secured 16 seats and JD(U) 12. The I.N.D.I.A bloc has bagged 233 seats. Others have won 18 seats in the lower house of Parliament. The Congress secured 99 seats. Samajwadi Party got 37 seats while Trinamool Congress 29. DMK managed to win 22 seats. Prominent candidates who have won include Prime Minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi from Varanasi, Union Ministers Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, Om Birla from Kota, Arjun Ram Meghwal from Bikaner, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Jodhpur, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia from Guna, Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri seat and Shatrughan Sinha of TMC from Asansol. Prominent Candidates who have lost include BJP leader and Union Minister Arjun Munda from Khunti, Smriti Irani from Amethi, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah from Baramullah and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti from Anantnag seat. In Uttar Pradesh, result of all the 80 constituencies has been declared. Samajwadi Party has won 37 while the BJP has won 33 seats, Congress six, and Rashtriya Lok Dal won two seats. Apna Dal (Soneylal)-ADAL and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram)-ASPKR have won one seat each. No BSP candidate managed to win the election in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won from Varanasi defeating Ajay Rai of Congress by a margin of more than 1 lakh 50 thousand votes. Rajnath Singh of BJP won his Lucknow seat by over one lakh 35,000 votes. Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi has been declared elected from Rae Bareli seat defeating BJP rival Dinesh Pratap Singh by a margin of over 3 lakh 90 thousand votes. Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party has won by more than 1 lakh 70 thousand votes in kannauj. Other Prominent winners of BJP include Dr. Mahesh Sharma from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jitin Prasad from Pilibhit, Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi form Unnao, Arun Govil from Meerut, Hema Malini from Mathura and Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur. Smriti Irani of the BJP has lost to Kishori Lal of Congress in Amethi and Ajay Kumar of BJP to Utkarsh Verma ‘Madhur’ of Samajwadi Party in Kheri. Menka Gandhi of BJP has also lost to Rambhual Nishad of Samajwadi Party by a margin of over 43 thousand votes in Sultanpur constituency. Dimpal Yadav of Samajwadi Party has been declared elected from Mainpuri Constituency defeating Jayveer Singh of BJP by a margin of over 2 lakh 20 thousand votes. Chandrashekhar of ASPKR has won from Nagina Constituency. In Bihar, election results of all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies have been declared. The BJP and the Janata Dal (United) have won 12 seats each. Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Radha Mohan Singh, Giriraj Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad are among winning BJP leaders. While, Congress candidates Manoj Kumar, Tariq Anwar and Mohammad Jawed have won their elections. Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) has won five seats, Rashtriya Janata Dal four seats, Congress three and CPIM (ML) has won two seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi won from Gaya seat, while the independent candidate, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has won the Purnia constituency. In Delhi, BJP have won on all seven seats. Bansuri Swaraj won from New Delhi seat beating Somnath Bharti of AAP, Praveen Khandelwal secured Chandni chowk seat defeating Congress leader Jai Prakash Agarwal. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won from South Delhi. Manoj Tiwari defeated Kanhaiya Kumar of Congress by more than one lakh 38 thousand votes. Harsh Malhotra has won East Delhi seat, Kamaljeet Sehrawat has won West Delhi seats and Yogendra Chandoliya won from North-West Delhi seat. In Punjab, out of all 13 seats. Congress has won 7, Aam Aadmi Party 3, Shiromani Akali Dal 1 and Independent 2 seats. In Haryana, BJP and Congress haver won five seats each. In lone Lok Sabha seat in Chandigarh, Congress candidate Manish Tewari has won against BJP candidate Sanjay Tandon. Out of five seats in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP and the National Conference have won two seats each while Independent candidate has one seat. National Conference candidate and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was defeated by Independent candidate Engineer Sheikh Rashid in Baramullah Lok Sabha seat. BJP candidate and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh won Udhampur Parliamentary seat. PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti was defeated by National Conference candidate Mian Altaf Ahmad in Anantnag-Rajouri constituency. In lone Parliamentary seat in Ladakh, Independent candidate Haji Hanifa has won. In Himachal Pradesh, the BJP has won all four Lok Sabha seats. With this clean sweep, the BJP has repeated the history of 2014 and 2019. Prominent leaders among the winners this time include Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and actress Kangana Ranaut. In Uttarakhand, the BJP has won all five Lok Sabha seats in the state. BJP Candidate Ajay Bhatt defeated Congress rival Prakash Joshi by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes in Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar. Trivendra Singh Rawat of BJP has won form Haridwar seat defeating Congress candidate Virendra Rawat by a margin of over 1 lakh 64 thousand votes. Anil Baluni registered win by a margin of over 1 lakh 63 thousand votes in Garhwal. In Rajasthan, result of all 25 Lok Sabha seats has been declared. BJP has won 14 seats and 8 seats have gone in favour of Congress. CPI(M), Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and Bharat Adiwasi Party have bagged one seat each. BJP candidates have been declared elected from Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Jaipur Rural, Jalore, Jhalawar-Baran, Jodhpur, Kota, Pali, Rajsamand, and Udaipur. Congress has won from Barmer, Bharatpur, Churu, Dausa, Ganganagar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli-Dholpur and Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituencies. Bharat Adiwasi Party, CPI(M) and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party Candidates have won from Banswara, Sikar and Nagaur respectively. Om Birla of BJP defeated Congress rival Prahlad Gunjal. Arjun Ram Meghwal of BJP has won from Bikaner defeating Congress rival Govind Ram Meghwal. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of BJP has won from Jodhpur constituency defeating Congress rival Karan Singh Uchiyarda by a margin of over 1 lakh votes. In Gujarat, the BJP has registered massive win by securing 25 seats out of total 26. One seat has gone to the Congress. In Maharashtra, out of 48 seats, the BJP has won 9 seats. Congress secured 13 seats, Shiv Sena (Uddhav) won 9, Shiv Sena(SHS) 7, NCP (Pawar) won 8 seats. NCP won just one seat and Independent one. In Goa, Congress has won the South Goa seat, while BJP has won the North Goa seat. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP has made clean sweep by winning 29 seats. Shankar Lalwani of the BJP has won Indore seat by a margin of 11,75,092 votes against his nearest rival Sanjay of Bahujan Samaj Party. As many as 2,18,674 votes were polled as the NOTA or None of the Above in the constituency. From Guna seat, Jyotiraditya Scindia has won with over five lakh votes margin, Rahul Singh Lodhi has won form Damoh with over 4 lakh votes margin, Faggan Singh Kulaste bagged Mandla seat. BJP’s Bunty Vivek Sahu won the Chhindwara seat. BJP contested on all 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while Congress contested on 27 seats. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP has won 10 seats while lone Congress leader Jyotsna Charandas Mahant won from Korba constituency. BJP candidate Brijmohan Agrawal, with a margin of more than 5 lakh 75 thousand, won the Raipur seat. Another BJP candidate Vijay Baghel won the Durg constituency with a margin of more than 4 lakh 38 thousand votes. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Santosh Pandey has defeated the former Chief Minister and Congress leader, Bhupesh Baghel in the Rajnandgaon constituency. In Odisha, BJP has made impressive show as it won 20 seats while the Congress just managed to win single seat. BJD failed to its account. In Jharkhand, Lok Sabha elections were held for 14 seats. BJP has won eight seats, AJSU Party -one, JMM-three and the Congress two. BJP leader and Union Minister Arjun Munda has lost Khunti seat. Congress candidate Kalicharan Munda defeated him by margin of over one lakh 40 thousand votes. Union Minister and BJP leader Annapurna Devi has been elected from Koderma seat. BJP candidates Manish Jaiswal from Hazaribagh, Sanjay Seth from Ranchi , BD Ram from Palamu, Nishikant Dubey from Godda, Dhullu Mahto from Dhanbad Vidut Baran Mahto from Jamshedpur and Kalicharan Singh from Chatra have also won their elections. While NDA ally partner Chandra Prakash Chaudhary of AJSU party has been elected from Giridih seat. JMM candidates Vijay Kumar Hansda from Rajmahal, Joba Manjhi from Singhbhum and Nalin Soren from Dumka have also won elections. Congress Candidates Kalicharan Munda from Khunti and Sukhdeo Bhagat from Lohardaga have also won elections. Meanwhile, Kalpana Soren of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has won Gandey assembly by polls. She defeated her nearest rival Dilip Verma of the BJP by margin of over 26 thousand votes. Kalpana Soren is wife of jailed former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress has won 29 seats. Abhishek Banerjee, Kirti Jha Azad and Shatrughan Prasad Sinha are prominent winners of the party. Abhishek has won the election over the margin of over seven lakh votes. BJP has won 12 seats. BJP candidates Manoj Tigga, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Roy and K C Paul are among the BJP winning candidates. BJP’s Bankura candidate and MoS Education Dr Subhash Sarkar has lost his seat. Isha Khan Choudhary of the Congress has won Malda Dakshin seat. In Assam, BJP has won 9 seats. It candidate and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by over 2 lakh 79 thousand votes in Dibrugarh. Congress won 3 seats. United People’s Party (Liberal) and Asom Gana Parishad won one seat each. In Tripura, BJP has won all two seats. Its candidate and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb defeated Ashish Kumar Saha of Congress in Tripura West Parliamentary seat by over 6 lakh 11 thousand 5 hundred votes. BJP candidate Kriti Devi Debbarman defeated Rajendra Reang of CPIM by over 4 lakh 86 thousand votes. In Arunachal Pradesh, BJP candidate and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has won Arunachal West Parliamentary constituency by over 1 lakh votes defeating Nabam Tuki of Congress. BJP candidate Tapir Gao defeated his nearest rival Bosiram Siram of Congress by over 30 thousand votes. In Manipur, Congress has won both the seats. Richard Vanlalhmangaiha of Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) defeated his nearest rival K. Vanlalvena of Mizo National Front by over 68 thousand votes. In Nagaland, Congress candidate S.S Jamir has won the lone Lok Sabha seat defeating Dr, Chumben Murry by over 50 thousand 9 hundred votes. In Meghalaya, Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma has won Tura seat by over 1 lakh 55 thousand votes defeating Agatha Sangma of National People’s party. Voice of the Pepole Party candidate Dr. Ricky Andrew J Singkon has bagged Shillong seat defeating Vincent H Pala of Congress by over 3 lakh 71 thousand votes. Congress has won 9 seats. Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), CPI and CPI (M) have won two seats each. MDMK and IUML have also managed to win one seat each. Congress candidate V. Vaithilingam registered win in the lone Lok Sabha seat in Union Territory of Puducherry. In Kerala, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has registered a clean sweep with a clear lead in 18 of 20 Lok Sabha seats. First time in the history, BJP has opened its Lok Sabha account in Kerala with Suresh Gopi’s win in Thrissur. The CPI(M)-led LDF has won only one seat in Alathur constituency. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again won in Wayanad constituency with over three lakh fifty thousand votes over his nearest rival Annie Raja, while BJP state chief K Surendran was confined to the third position. Union Minister and BJP candidate of Thiruvananthapuram constituency Rajeev Chandrasekhar conceded defeat to Congress’s Shashi Tharoor for more than 15000 votes. In Karnataka, out of 28 Lok Sabha Constituencies, BJP has won 17 seats. While Congress has won 9 seats and JDS won two seats. In Odisha, ruling BJD has lost all seats while BJP showing its impressive performance has secured 20 seats. Congress just managed to win lone seat. Bhartruhari Mahtab, Aparajita Sarangi, Pradeep Purohit and Ananta Nayak of BJP have won their elections. Meanwhile, in Odisha Assembly elections, the BJP has secured majority by winning 78 seats out of 147 members house, while the Telugu Desam Party has secured absolute majority in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections by wining 135 seats out of 175 members house. It is worth recalling that results of 25 Assembly bye-election have also been declared. Out of these, the BJP secured 11 seats; Congress seven; Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress two each; CPI(ML), JMM and BAP one seat each.
