- Assam: Flood Situation Slightly Improves; More Than 2500 Villages Across 26 Districts Still Reeling Under Flood
In Assam, the flood situation improved further but more than 2500 villages of 86 revenue circles across 26 districts are still reeling under the flood and over 39000 hectares of crop areas have been damaged across the state. There is no report of loss of human life due to flood during the last 24 hours. The rivers Brahmaputra, Burhidihing, Disang and Kushiyara are flowing above danger level. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in Assam. The State Government has opened 189 Relief camps and 110 relief distribution centres. NDRF and SDRF teams have also been deployed for rescue and relief operations.
- India & Bhutan Agree To Work Together In Field Of Environment And Climate Change
India and Bhutan have agreed to work together in the areas of climate change, air quality, forest, wildlife management, and capacity building in the field of environment and climate change. A delegation from Bhutan, headed by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Gem Tshering met Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh in New Delhi. Both leaders discussed issues related to air quality, climate change, forests, natural resources, wildlife and renewable energy. Mr. Singh thanked the Bhutanese Minister for joining the International Big Cat Alliance, a global initiative of India. He stated that both countries share the same geography, ecosystem, as well as common values of democracy. He further stated that climate change is a common concern for both the countries. Mr. Tshering informed that Bhutan is already a carbon-negative country and obtains its major share of energy from hydropower.

- J&K: Over 20 Persons Detained For Questioning To Track Down Terrorists Involved In Kathua Ambush
In Jammu and Kashmir, in order to track down the terrorists involved in the Kathua ambush in which five soldiers were martyred, over 20 persons have been detained for questioning while a massive hunt entered its fourth day today. A massive hunt is going on from Kathua, Bhaderwah, and Udhampur sides despite intermittent heavy rains and fog in dense forests. Meanwhile, questioning of some people in the backdrop of the Kathua ambush is also underway. Joint search parties of Police, Army, and paramilitary forces are carrying out intense searches in the forest area around the incident spot. Terrain is very difficult and no stone is being left unturned to track down the terrorists involved in the deadly attack. Army and Police personnel had been deployed in dense forests across Udhampur, Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts. Fresh searches have been initiated in the Lala Chack area of Samba, the Manjakote area of Rajouri, and the Surankote area of Poonch districts since yesterday morning. Elite paratroopers of the Army have also been deployed to conduct the searches. The search teams are supported by helicopter and UAV surveillance while sniffer dogs and metal detectors are also being used, particularly in the dense forest areas. The National Investigation Agency visited the ambush site and was assisting the Police in the investigation. Worth mentioning, the terrorists on Monday opened fire at two Army vehicles on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar mountain road near Badnota village in Kathua district, resulting in the killing of five army soldiers and wounds to five others. Meanwhile, the search operation to locate terrorists in the Doda district entered its third day today. On Tuesday, there was a heavy exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in the Ghadi Bhagwah forest area of Doda. Police and security forces believe at least two terrorists were injured in Tuesday’s exchange of fire.
- IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain In Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat And Coastal Karnataka Till July 14
India Meteorological Department has forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka till 14th of this month. It has also forecast isolated very heavy rainfall in Gujarat during next three days. IMD said that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Bihar today. Isolated very heavy rainfall may occur over East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh today. It further added that scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh,Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and East Rajasthan during next five days and in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till Saturday. Meanwhile, some parts of the national capital received light rainfall this morning making the weather pleasant. IMD has forcast generally cloudy sky with very light rain to light rain for today. The maximum and minimum temperature would be around 36 and 26 degree Celsius.

The Ministry of Communications has responded to misleading claims regarding recent mobile services tariff increase in the country. The Ministry in its statement said that with three private sector companies and one public sector company, the current mobile services market operates through the market forces of demand and supply. It added that the government is focused on protecting the interests of subscribers, enabling orderly growth with investment in the latest technologies and ensuring financial viability. The Communications Ministry said, Government’s policies and regulatory framework notified by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has resulted in one of the lowest costs for subscribers of mobile services in India. TRAI is an independent regulator for telecommunication services and it regulates the rates of telecommunication services in the country.

The value of production has reached to nearly one lakh, 26 thousand and eight hundred eighty seven crore in 2023-24, which is 16.8 percent higher than the value of production of previous financial year. Sharing about the same in a social media post today, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh said that the Make in India programme is crossing new milestones, year after year, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
